History Founded in 1972, Jam Industries Ltd. began
operating in Montreal under the trade name
of Erikson Music, and through the 1970’s,
corporate Canada witnessed the rapid
growth of this Quebec-based company.
In the 1980’s Jam Industries widened its
scope. In addition to Erikson Music, the
formation of Korg Canada, and Erikson Pro
Audio allowed greater focus on important
market areas. In April 1986, Jam Industries
purchased full assets of Coast Wholesale
Music Ltd. and proceeded to transform this Western Canadian
company from a regional distributor into a full-fledged national
marketing and sales force.
In the 1990’s, building on established strengths, the company
expanded: Pro Audio into the lighting market, distributing Martin
Professional Lighting products in Canada; and into the
consumer electronics field with the Erikson Consumer division.
Today, Jam Industries has consolidated its strengths into five
main divisions:
Coast Music (music accessories); Erikson Music (musical
instruments including Korg keyboards); Erikson Pro (including pro lighting); Erikson Audio and Erikson
Consumer representing products to consumer electronic retailers. Our newest division is Erikson Commercial which represents products to system contractors and dealers.
Following a consistent upward curve, Jam Industries’ growth and diversification continues to
strengthen its position in the marketplace, providing a resourceful, reliable, and innovative
distribution network.
